Whats in your box?

Have you ever seen a “boxes in boxes” prank? In case you haven’t, it’s a prank where someone gives you a gift but its in multiple boxes. As contrary to normal, when you open the box there’s another box inside of it instead of your gift, then another box, then another box, then another box, until you finally reach the last tiny box that contains the gift.

Have you ever wondered what your spiritual gift is? Me too. But what I have determined thus far is you don’t just receive a package one day and BAM there is your spiritual gift. Determining your spiritual gift is more like the “boxes in boxes” prank. Its going to take effort and time to determine what your gift is because if you look at the list of gifts they aren’t things that happen overnight. For example: wisdom, knowledge, etc.

Sometimes I feel like there is pressure added to Christians to know what their gift is…relax. You have to build your relationship with Christ and go through a little bit of life first to determine your gift. You might have to open a box, then another box, then another box, before you finally reach the last one that holds your gift.

The sooner we realize that everything in this life is not “direct gratification” the better. Theres just some things we have to wait on. What is more important…building a better relationship with God or knowing your gift? Get to know him and these sweet additives will come along the way. Enjoy opening your boxes and remember that he loves you along the way. Whats in your box? I can’t wait to see what you find.

“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.”
