Dear mind…

Dear mind,

Who do you think you are belittling a daughter/son of the king? A royal heir? Do you not know who my daddy is? In case you forgot who he is, I thought I’d remind you. He created this world from nothing, from the ground up. Genesis 1:2 states that the earth was formless and empty…and just days later the heavens and earth were completed in all their vast array meaning an impressive display or ordered series (Genesis 2:1)  I am not who you say I am. I am not unworthy, worthless, a waste of a human being, a disappointment or an embarrassment. I am:

  • a friend of Jesus (John 15:15)
  • a child of God and an heir with Christ (Romans 8:17)
  • a saint (1 Corinthians 1:2)
  • a temple of the holy spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19)
  • a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17)

I am who God says I am. I am bigger and better than my thoughts and my mind. I am me and thanks to God I am free. I will no longer listen to your lies or be controlled by your senseless thoughts. I refuse to let you withhold me from being all that I’m suppose to be. Dear mind, you’re no longer my enemy, but you’re my encouragement to be a better me.
